Today we were out locally in Castle Ward, Caldicot, doing Labour Doorstep for Catherine Fookes for her campaign to become the Labour Party MP for Monmouthshire. From Severnside Labour Cllrs Francis John Crook, Angela Sandles and Henry Higgins were out, knocking the doors, canvassing. I grew up near the location of this new estate in Caldicot. It used to, however, just be farmers’ fields. The houses built here are all new and the streets have quite difficult Welsh names. The area is pretty much unknown to me, geographically. Today, I had to co-ordinate our party and run the doorstep app to tell people which houses to call on and to record data from our work. It is a lot more dififcult than you might imagine, even if I am quite tech-savvy. You have to be right on your toes for it! I prefer just being a simple foot soldier!
