Shuffle @ Rock and Fountain Finale Party, Summer 1996

From January 1995, just a week after my seventeenth birthday I started running monthly events at the Rock & Fountain, a country pub in Penhow, not far from Caldicot, which has a large barnlike function room hall. I used to hire a sound system – initially off DJ Big Al from Escape Nightclub, Swansea, fame. We’d get loads of local DJs to play and at this finale party, which took place on Saturday, 29th June 1996, we had guest DJ Maurice, who was a resident DJ at Revolution in Bristol. I don’t have much video footage from my clubbing and DJ escapades yet this is a rare, earl glimpse of my DJ career. Shuffle began, in essence at these parties and you can see my Shuffle DJ partner Damo take to the decks here. Also playing was an old Rock & FOuntain resident DJ, John Atkins.
