Sicknote are our friends. Indeed, producer and computer man of the band, Flapsandwich , even attended a care and evaluation meeting at Talygarn hospital during my latest incarceration a few months ago and more or less forced the psychiatrist into letting me go by explaining what a load of utter nonsense they were accusing me of and how ridiculous the situation was that they kept me locked away. When the chips are down you sure need your friends about you and mental hopsitalizations are periods where many will turn their backs. Great thing is that you learn who your real friends are and on who you can count. When all is great in your life, then you are probably popular. You become an instant pariah – Your true friends, who appreciate you whatever your circumstances and whenever, will always stand true and as much as they may help you, always remember to return the favour if ever called upon. When the phone rings, bloody well answer it as a friend in need is a crisis. Sicknote have taken the world by storm over the past few years and from their Cardiff base they preach a fruity message of non-conformity. They aren’t attempting a revolution, they are the Revolution. If you get the chance to see a live show take it on. When they first emerged I took down some demo CDs to occupational therapy at St. Cadoc’s Hospital and not just all the patients but all the staff were dancing in tandem. That is the power of music. It unites even enemies.

At the heights of the Balkan was Croats, Serbs, Bosnians and Muslims all laid down their arms on a Saturday Night to get down to some serious raving together. Guns firing in the air they took the opportunity to rejoice and let out all their pent up anger and frustration. Sicknote have pent up anger and energy which transcends all boundaries.
