Labour Party Campaigning in Town Ward, Monmouth

Today we were again out campaigning for Catherine Fookes as Labour candidate for Monmouthshire at the next general election. We were out and about in Town Ward, Monmouth, an area that Catherine knows well as she is the councillor there. Andy and Cath were among the workers I met today and they were nice and pleasant and I’m feeling confident enough now to be doing #labourdoorstep on my own without supervision.

I love the ancient Monnow Bridge here at the bottom of Monmouth Town Centre which is the Town Ward area where we were canvassing today.

The streets of Monmouth were nice and the people welcoming and respectful to us as Labour Party campaigners.

I did notice that the High Stret in Monmouth Town Centre was fairly quiet and that not all shops were full. It’s nothing like the high street crisis we have, for example, in Caldicot, where our high street has been more decimated, but in Monmouth it is still noticeable. We need a new Labour Government to help put our high streets and the economy back on track… #votelabour

After the political campaigning I managed to check out Monmouth Wetherspoons for a quick pint of Guinness: MY GOODNESS, MY GUINNESS!
