Labour Party campaigning for Catherine Fookes in Monmouth with Jeremy Miles MS

For our #labourdoorstep campaigning session today for the Labour Party we were up in Monmouth. The main goal, of course is to support the successful campaign of Labour candidate for Monmouthshire, Catherine Fookes. Today we were joined by a powerful rising star and cabinet politician from Welsh Labour. Jeremy Miles MS is currently the Minister for Education in the Senedd.

It’s great to be able to get out and about around y local area and across the beautiful county of Monmouthshire while I’m doing this campaining work for the local Labour Party.… For anyone who might be inspired to do something similar and get out there volunteering for Labour and to learn and get involved in politics, it is very easy to do. Just become a Labour Party member – which isn’t expensive really, at all. Then you will get emails inviting you to get more involved – This could lead to you helping in local campaigns in your area. – you can check most details out on their website https://labour.org.uk

I’d certainly encourage a bit of real political activism – I, most certainly, am thorougly enjoying the experience and find it quite challeneging to hear from real members of the general public about their issues and poltical views.

The campaigning went to plan and we were out, busy as a hard-working team. We covered a lot of ground, again in the Town Ward of Monmouth.

I had a little chat to Jeremy Miles and as he is Minister of Education it seemed relevant to me that I should meet him in Monmouth as many moons ago it was Monmouth School where I used to commute every day from the age of 11 to 18 to do my secondary education. It was a difficult task getting there every day from down in Caldicot yet the education was second to none really, even if I’ve never really ever properly applied my knowledge in terms of successful employment in my adult life.
