A small team of us were out for the first part of the morning doing #labourdoorstep here in Caerwent on behalf of Labour Party candidate for Monmoutshire, Catherine Fookes.
We went up by St. Tathan’s Place and I turn up at my old mate, Terry’s address but unfortunately he wasan’t in. Terry is a staunch lifelong Labour supporter so it would hve been nice to see him.
Today, a full-time Labour party employee, Bridie Sedgebeer, was running the session. Catherine Fookes couldn’t make the first morning session we were doing here in Caerwent but after we had finished here, there was another session in Chepstow where Catherine would be able to meet us and participate. Bridie was also going there afterwards and kindly offered to give me a lift whichh saved me the hassle of catching the service bus which is how I tend to get around doing #labourdootstep here in Monmouthshire.
We were received well in Caerwent by the people. They were enthusiastic about Catherine and what she could bring to the table. The people see change as a necessity, not just here in Caerwent, but everywhere in Monmouthshire. The whole country is crying out for a new political transformation. It will arrive with Labour.
