Labour Doorstep in Portskewett

Today we were out doing our Labour Party #labourdoorstep campaigning for Catherine Fookes in Portskewett, Monmouthshire, which is the next village up the road from me in Caldicot so is quite local. Bridie Sedegebeer was there, running the session. It is quite hard ot actually co-ordinate and organise the movements and work of a team, even if it was only small today. There is a Labour campaigning app, that tells you in each location, which houses to visit and that has all sorts of details on voter activity etc. Sorting things out geographically is diffiult enough as every little street and estate is different and finding your way about can be a nightmare. Bridie is often the one who gets lumbered with the co-ordinating task and to be fair, she does a wonderful job, and often does her own fair share of door-knocking too. She is a most essential part of Catherine Fookes’ campaigning team. We had a good session and, as ever, people on the doorstep were welcoming and pleased to speak to us and hear our agenda. I am getting more and more confident by the day that Catherine Fookes is destined to win the Parliamentary seat of Monmouthshire at the general election.
