This morning we went out campaigning on my estate in the local Dewstow Ward, Caldicot. Catherine Fookes, the Labour Party candidate for Monmouthshire, was present and vigorously knocking the doors. Henry Higgins, the Severnside Chair was out as was Counsellor for Magor & Undy, Frances John Crook. Plus my regular close #labourdoorstep buddy, John, from Caerphilly and a lady member from Caerwent.
It is quite bizarre knocking on doors locally. it’s nice to be able to rock home early but it’s a bit weird all your neighbours knowing your business and what you are doing politically. I’m like a marmite character on my Estate so I’m not sure whether my presence will either help or hinder the campaign.
