Labour Doorstep, Castle Ward, Caldicot

Today Severnside Labour were out en force, covering #labourdoorstep in Castle Ward, Caldicot. We were up on the new estates, areas which I am not familiar with as these were farmers’ fields we used to play in when I was growing up and the new houses didn’t even exist. The Labour Party candidate for Monmouthshire, Catherine Fookes, joined us. Henry Higgins was present, as was Frances John Crook, Tone Easson and Peter and Jackie Strong. Plus we had a new, young volunteer joining us for the first time. I was promoted today into running the app to co-ordinate our movements. Basically, everything is synced up digitally and whenever a doorstep campaign is run, it is controlled by technology and everything is recorded. It’s damn complicated little app to use, let me tell you, especially in an area where you are unfamiliar with the geography. Normally, Bridie Sedgebeer runs the Doorstep app during most of my sessions and my respect for her, in dong this so effectively, has gone right up after my own feeble attempts at organizing….

The locals received us well here and it was a good session.
