Labour Doorstep, Denny View, Caldicot

Today I went out with a contingent of Severnside Labour branch to Denny View in Severn Ward, Caldicot for a #LabourDoorstep session, promoting Catherine Fookes who is the Labour Party candidate for MP in Monmouthshire at the general election. Present were Cllrs Angela Sandles, Maria Stevens (Severn Ward), Francis John Crook, Jacqui Strong, Henry Higgins, Peter Strong and Tony Easson plus myself. On the whole the day was good but a certain lady threatened to shoot us all at one stage from the window of her flat which was a bit eerie buy I just took it with a pinch of salt. Politics does have tendency to polarize people. I tend to find though that people, on the whole are happy to engage and pleased you have made the effort to go to them, whatever their political creed may be. At this moment in time, even the most ardent Tory supporter is aware of government failures and the sheer necessity for change. Indeed, the winds of change are very much blowing, and I believe that this is happening all over the country.
