Ableton Tips: David Guetta on the Perfect Kick Bass

This is a studio tip that has been given to me on previous occasions by more advanced music producers than myself or I might have covered it in some of the literature I’ve read. I just watched this the other day and realise that it is an element of my Wez G Production work that I have to focus on.

David Guetta is a big French DJ and whereas many mock his amazingly lucrative global success and accuse him of being cheesy pop star etc etc. you got to respect him for his success. People get jealous out there, especially in the brutal global music industry.

I personally first came across him with his World Is Mine Deep Dish remix which stands the test of time as a great song. I think I might have met him also in a Paris nightclub – Les Folies des Pigalles – in 2002 – when I was backstage in the DJ Booth, difficult to remember exactly though as I was unaware of who he was at the time.

Check this video out below where we see a studio demonstration in Ableton, and I’m sure if you have any knowledge of dance music production, you will see that this French Producer legend, David Guetta, is bang on and right.

Food for thought, eh? I am going to try and repeat exactly what he does in the studio and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the neat little plugin Guetta uses is available online at a fractional cost so I’ll be buying that later on this evening and setting to work on some new music….

The Ableton Plugin that David Guetta uses in this demonstration is Nicky Romero Kickstart 2 and is available, priced at just 14 Euros, here…. https://www.kickstart-plugin.com/
