This League Cup fixture will be the third time that LFC have faced Crystal Palace this season and unfortunately, in the two previous fixtures, Crystal Palace have emerged victorious. Firstly they beat us in the Community Shield season opener and then had a last gasp win in the League in September. They have had three wins and one draw in their past four games and obviously our form is quite shady compared with this.
Arne Slot sees that he has nothing to lose and has completed renovated the team, which is quite common these days for managers to do in this minor competition. Milos Kerkez is the only player to retain his place in the starting lineup after our grim defeat at Brentford on the weekend.
Andy Robertson captains the side and Freddie Woodman and Kieran Morrison are making their debuts. Chiesa who has been showing a little bit of form among the shadowy form of all players this season, does start and I’m happy that we will be seeing Alexis Mac Allister in midfield also.
Bring on The Eagles! Third time lucky! #ynwa
