I started writing this as Facebook post on my personal profile to my friends and family and the good old music industry contacts I have on there etc. I do drivel on a lot on social media…. Usually something controversial. Rather than just stick it on there for five minutes for a few likes for it to disappear down into Zuckerburg’s Meta ether, forever lost for his AI bots to experiment on and use against us forever, i thought I’d seize control of the information and do up a sort of diary blog post which is sort of what blogs are about, really. It reaches out to a wider audience potentially plus I can still share it on social media..I’ll try and keep up diary blog updates. I can always look back and use them as reference points to and I think it’s important for the Wez G fans and audience to see the direction I’m taking in life.
Geez I’m flat out working my arse off on everything 24-7 – I’ve sort of mainly rebuilt my website even if it’s still a bit naff. Just trying to set Wez G up as a proper business as it’s about to start earning money. I’m ploughing every spare bit of cash into it and living pretty damn frugally – just essentials. It’s all costing and I still need to invest massively in certain essentials for growth. I got a couple of people working for me and helping loads: a nice young lady in Toronto, Canada: Vega – and a new Indian guy who is a digital marketing guru….
I thank you as friends, family and fans for your support if you are listening and sharing and of the music stuff etc. I’m trying to use the website to cover other interests and work and I now write about the Chatham House lectures, my Labour Party work, have reignited LiverpooL FC match reviews etc and blog, Four Four Cyber cybersecurity is still on the go, languages are combining with music in Wez G World music series…. The Open University is going well – a couple of weeks ahead there but have to wait all the way until next October for my next grant and loan etc…. Going to be busy out with Labour campaigning for Sennedd elections in New Year…. Nicola and I have split – it’s been going bad for ages and it’s best we move on. I’m happy in the new bungalow and just really keeping myself to myself, seeing very few visitors. Cut off from the world and focused on staying stable and working to get out of the poverty trap. Most of what I do has always been long term.
I suppose a real positive is that I’ve kept the mental health lot at bay for a long period now which is essential for me to crack on. I still have some pretty horrific really dark and bad stuff hanging over me which is also making me a recluse. This is from the old neighbours back in Oakley Way but hopefully that will get sorted and go away. Happy moving into the winter and towards my 48th birthday. I have two releases over next fortnight. I hope you can support them. Main marketing focus for me is on Spotify and YouTube where I’m slowly building up a nice global audience. It’s fun making moves in the music industry and is something I’ve always loved doing and have shown that I’m quite good at it when I’m on form. I know when I’m on the rise and creating a buzz – I just hope that I can ride this wave right to a nice height – It could prove to be sustainable this time and the sort of ambitions and dreams going through my mind and that are achievable goals are driving me forward… Keep an eye on me as I go and your help and support on social media, be you friends or family keeps me ticking over…. I’m just going to keep it as it is and steer clear of dangers and work, work , work until I drop. Not seeking a new woman – they are just trouble. Not seeking to ‘have fun’ or get taken advantage of by idiots. Just pure work work and more work until I can taste the fruits of success. Every day is bringing new opportunities and results.
When you have a professional music career, the breaks and good times tend to be few and far between and you have to always prepare for them and work so hard to make sure that you can take advantage of what is on the plate. I’m not a young spring chicken any more, chasing the flashing lights and life of a nightclub DJ. That worked for a short time and kept me pecker up. I’m almost 48, but i”m still working with electronic beats – just cannot escape them. This time it’s as a producer and it is all monetized and ready for action. I’ve made a couple of OK songs now and I am going to strike out and deliver a hit record one way or another. It’ll probably be cheesy and maybe dance pop crossover but it will come… I am gearing up ahead of every studio session and as tiring and challenging as it is to create something decent in the studio I am working on it full on….
I always find the buildup to Christmas to be stressful and difficult and I do prefer summer weather. My family are all in the Antipodes and I’m pretty much all alone, especially with the Nicola relationship having become untenable. I shall keep going and do my best to stay free and safe and active and healthy and to be a valued, contributing member of society and also a quality music artist delivering real work and good music for the world to enjoy.
