The international break may have come as a reprieve for Arne Slot’s men. They have, at last, had time to lick their wounds after the ignominious defeat at the Etihad against Manchester City.
It’s pretty hopeless thinking we can win the league after our poor start but it would be a good idea to gee up a bit and not suffer yet another embarrassing victory and Liverpool failed to beat Forest in the two League encounters last season. They are suffering too, however, and have cycled through a few managers and now, under Sean Dyche, they start today’s game in the relegation zone. Liverpool, vs Nottingham Forest is a traditional rivalry though, dating back to the Brian Clough era and their European Cup success in the 1970s just at the peak of our own club’s prowess under Bob Paisley.
The good team news for Liverpool FC is that Alisson makes his much anticipated return from injury. Jeremie Frimpong is still out though and Connor Bradley also has a knock so problems at right back. Maybe Dominik Szoboszlai will have to fill in there. Florian Wirtz is also absent from today’s game. They all need to be pulling their socks up before they stick that LFC crest on their chest as of late non of them have been worthy of wearing the Liverpool shirt really. We need pride and passion and a team that works for each other, the manager and the passionate supporters. We are LFC! Put the Liverbird upon your chest, lads, you are men of Arne Slot’s best!
“We hate Nottingham Forest, We hate Everton too: They’re SHIT! We hate Man United, but Liverpool, we LOVE YOU! Altogether now….”
