It is the most amazing site for discovering new music. It has an excellent tagging system and when you download the scrobbler which supports a lot of players, you can keep a record of your own listening history.Â
It keeps stats and wiki info on artists that you simply won’t get anywhere else. It is fully interactive with a social network dimension where you meet genuine friends based on music tastes. There is a journal system and groups. It is an amazing site for artists which, even if you don’t scrobble particularly well – with decent journals and links you will ping around search engines across the world.Â
As a music listener and artist’s resource it is second to none. It is mainly free though you can subscribe to some additional features for a nominal monthly sum. It is also app friendly with its own radio app. The radio feature is the highlight and I’ll leave that to non-users as a surprise – but this is where you discover the site’s database’s true power and make new music discoveries.
I fully endorse last.fm and I just cannot comprehend why more people don’t use it.
