I only ‘discovered’ Olivia Rodrigo yesterday and this was the first track of hers I checked out. I was in London a couple of weeks back and kept having major deja vu experiences, hence this selection. This young lady, a Filipino-American, is only 20 years old. It’s making me feel old seeing youngsters like this coming through! She has a sweet little voice and some creative lyrics, with quality music. It’s really laidback and has a broken beat drum pattern with lullaby-like chimes.Apparently she is very influenced by Taylor Swift which doesn’t surprise me in the slightest. Apparently she has massive chart-topper out at the moment called ‘Vampire’. I sent her a nice tweet to say she was on the Wez G radar and I hope to put, most probably, this track, on the next episode of Wez G – Vine Line.
