VINYL DIGITISATION
Just started last week on burning my vinyl collection to digital wavs.. I’m using Ableton with the decks going straight into the PC via an audio 8 soundcard input. Having to record and then level off, render to wav, obviously getting all the track name details correct… Â It’s a good excuse to have a good listen to some great old classics but is a bit tiresome… I’m getting through maybe 50 tunes a day but there’s thousands of vinyl lurking around my house, waiting to be done… Had a few nasty scratches I’ve had to iron out with a warm soapy sponge… Just hoping that Traktor will pick up the correct bpm analysis or it will be manual djing with the new wavs… Be lovely to take the whole collection out on the road eventually and can’t wait for that to happen.
